Ken Wertheim is the principal of a small, personalized architectural practice established in 1993, specializing in fine custom designed mountain and resort homes. His firm was founded on a philosophy he refers to as "responsive architecture", with design principles that respond to client lifestyle needs, goals and objectives. He believes that architecture should complement the natural beauty of its surroundings and be sensitive to the natural environment by providing harmony and balance. Ken’s designs are modern interpretations inspired by the traditions and craftsmanship of the Adirondack camps, National Park lodges, Arts & Crafts cottages, and European country estates, which result in homes that are both timeless and elegant.

Ken is also an authorized independent representative for Timberpeg® and has been designing unique and distinctive custom homes for over 25 years, with a specialty in Sustainable "Green" design as well as timber framing. He is nationally certified by NCARB, a member of WNC Green Builders Council and licensed in NC, SC, GA and SC.

Historical Concepts

430 Prime Point | Suite 103 | Peachtree City, GA  30269

Drawing from the long-standing traditions of classical architecture, Historical Concepts creates enduring designs in a wide variety of styles and sizes. The firm pays careful attention to site conditions, scale and proportion, as well as historic precedent. This approach to architecture results in timeless designs that look and feel as though they have been part of any given setting for generations.

The firm's design philosophy is complemented by an unparalleled level of detail that is incorporated into every set of construction documents. Without thorough detailing, a project's design is left to interpretation, which may lead to unpleasant surprises during construction. For that reason, the design teams of Historical Concepts spend hundreds of hours thoroughly detailing both the exterior and the interior of each project. In an effort to deliver the highest level of quality to its clients, Historical Concepts remains heavily involved with most projects during the construction administration phases as well.
