Overlooking Tellico Lake, the newly reopened Tanasi Clubhouse is once again a central hub for Tellico Village, four years after a fire destroyed the original facility.
While the fire was devastating, rebuilding gave Tellico Village an opportunity to rethink what the Tanasi Clubhouse could be for the community today. The result is more than a replacement for what was lost. The newly reopened clubhouse brings together golf, waterfront dining and flexible social spaces designed to reflect how residents use and enjoy the community today.
The journey back was a community effort. More than 40 Tellico Village volunteers helped keep golf operations moving just one day after the fire, and construction ultimately progressed over four years for the grand reopening in August 2026.
Now, the finished facility offers an updated, overall experience that introduces a range of spaces designed around both golf and everyday community life.
A New Gathering Place
The new Tanasi Clubhouse represents a culmination of four years of evaluation, planning and construction following the 2022 fire. The entire clubhouse was designed specifically for the needs of the community today.
At the heart of the facility is the new Tanasi Waterfront Grill, optimizing panoramic views of Tellico Lake. The restaurant includes a 32-seat bar, private dining room, indoor seating for 114 guests and outdoor waterfront dining for more than 100 guests.
A fireside flex space gives people another place to connect outside of their homes. This unique spot can accommodate special events, casual seating or seasonal dining. The flexibility is an essential part of giving the community more places for social connection.
Golf Still Takes Center Stage
Of course, the Tanasi Clubhouse remains a golf destination.
The 18-hole Tanasi Golf Club is one of the three championship courses within Tellico Village, and its location along Tellico Lake provides a scenic backdrop for golfers. The rebuilt clubhouse expands the golf experience with a significantly larger Pro Shop, and a new putting green.
The facility also introduces a golf flex space, called The Silos, featuring two TrackMan golf simulators and a comfortable lounge area giving golfers opportunities to work on their game throughout the year, regardless of weather or daylight. It also adds another social dimension to golf. A simulator session with a group can be the start of practice - part friendly competition and part quality time with friends.
Designed for More Than Golf
For a vibrant active adult community, having a centralized meeting location for clubs, friends, and tee times is vital to the social fabric. So the new clubhouse was built with flexibility of space in mind.
The waterfront restaurant, private dining room and fireside venue can all be used for anything from a club meeting or small group dinner, to a large event. The Silos brings together practice, recreation and conversation.
That was part of what made the loss of the original clubhouse significant to the community in 2022. The building was not simply a place to check in before a round of golf. It was a popular meeting space for friends, dining and special occasions with neighbors.
A Community Effort
The new Tanasi Clubhouse also carries with it the story of the community that helped bring it back.
After the 2022 fire, more than 40 Tellico Village volunteers helped keep golf operations moving by relocating golf carts each morning and returning them at the end of each day. The course only lost one day of golf operations following the fire.
Construction ultimately moved forward in four phases to minimize interruptions to golf operations. Temporary facilities allowed residents and guests to continue playing while the new clubhouse took shape.
The community’s investment is also visible along the clubhouse entrance, where engraved pavers recognize individuals and families whose donations helped support the project.
Support from donors and the Timeless Tellico Foundation also helped make The Silos and its two TrackMan simulators possible. Those details are reminders that a clubhouse is not just a building; its value comes from the experiences that happen there and the people who use it.
