Dataw Island Residents to Break Ground on a New Home for the Lowcountry Habitat for Humanity
(St. Helena Island, SC) – Residents of Dataw Island will be joining the LowCountry Habitat for Humanity for an official groundbreaking ceremony for two new houses to be built at the Penn Village home site on Thursday, June 17 at 5:30 p.m. The “Dataw House” is sponsored by residents of Dataw Island who collectively raised $50,000 last year to assist in the campaign to build four more houses for the LowCountry Habitat for Humanity. Dataw Island Recognizes 8 Employees Accounting for more than 200 years of Experience
(St. Helena Island, SC) – Dataw Island Club representatives are proud to announce that they will soon employ eight people with more than 25 years of work experience each. On May 7, irrigation technician Benjamin Simmons will celebrate his 25th anniversary with the company and is the longest tenured employee in the landscape maintenance department. Simmons joins seven other colleagues at Dataw Island Club whose collective experience totals more than 200 years of dedicated service.

The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation Surprises Four Pickens County Charities with $5000 Donations
(Sunset, S.C.) – Yesterday members of The Reserve Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors and Outreach Committee, along with Executive Director Kathryn Coleman-Gravely, distributed four $5,000 checks to Prevent Child Abuse of Pickens County, Pickens County Meals on Wheels, Mary’s House, and Helping Hands of Clemson. These four non-profit organizations, all based within Pickens County, were those chosen by The Reserve’s membership to receive the Foundation’s annual gift which, this year, totals $20,000. Though the organizations were informed of their being chosen to receive the funds, the amount of the gift was a surprise.
