Sunset, S.C. – Today The Reserve at Lake Keowee and Clemson University’s head football coach Dabo Swinney and his staff hosted local members of the press for a day of fun and fellowship on The Reserve’s award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The fourth annual Clemson Media Day at The Reserve began with a press conference on the putting green, followed by an 18-hole captain’s choice tournament and post-round cook-out, and provided a casual atmosphere and unimpeded time for Coach Swinney to discuss the Tigers’ upcoming season.

“Clemson is a first-class university and a first-class program, and I can’t think of a more first-class place to come and host this tournament than The Reserve,” stated Dabo Swinney. “They do a tremendous job up here… great resources, nice infrastructure, the golf course is phenomenal, the mountains, the lakes - you’ve got it all up here. I look forward to coming up here every single year.”

Chuck Pigg, VP of Greenwood Communities and Resorts (developer of The Reserve) and Community Manager, thanked Clemson for the University’s close relationship with The Reserve. Located a mere 17 miles from Clemson University’s campus, The Reserve has collaborated with Clemson on a multitude of important programs, projects, and offerings on and off the course. Many of The Reserve’s Members and residents made the choice to become part of The Reserve community as a result of their affiliation with and affinity for Clemson, which enjoys an alumni network and fan base that stretches across the country and internationally.

Highlights of the day included Coach Swinney’s giving Pigg a commemorative golf ball, emblazoned with the Clemson Tiger paw and marked with Swinney’s own professional mantra “All in”. Swinney then turned to the putting green, tapped in a five-footer, and chuckled, “I have to make the first putt, don’t I?”

The Reserve at Lake Keowee will be hosting its annual Clemson Tailgait Party on Saturday, October 23rd, before the Tigers play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Reserve’s hospitality tent will be located just outside the West Endzone.
