After living in all parts of the country, we can truly appreciate the special neighborhood - Southbridge. The neighborhood offers easy access to downtown, airport and beaches. Many colleges keep the town filled with things to do as well as amenities within the neighborhood. Southbridge also has a very active and welcoming women's club.

Many colleges keep the town filled with things to do as well as amenities within the neighborhood. Southbridge also has a very active and welcoming women's club.

For those looking to retire in Savannah, GA, there are many choices. However, Skidaway Island, Southbridge and more recently Savannah Quarters offer many attributes and certainly need to be considered. Without question, each of the above three locations have benefits, some with considerable more upfront and continuing fees and costs. Skidaway is a premiere location for those seeking major golfing and or tennis as a retirement pastime. But there are some major upfront equity membership fees plus some substantial monthly dues. Further, Skidaway is an Island, with a new bridge the only way on and off. Travel time to and from during business hours must be factored into the peaceful nature once your there. Skidaway is a gated, private community giving residence more security but again at a cost. Southbridge downsizes the golf and tennis options but has a major reduction in annual costs. There are a variety of home styles within the community from condos to million dollar homes. Our main road is open to the public but due to its strict speed limit which is routinely enforced, it has not become a "cut through" or shortcut for the general public. I chose Southbridge for two reasons. Cost for goods and services available are considerably cheaper, freeing up more discretionary capital for me to enjoy. And convenience in spades! Twenty minutes tops to airport, 15 minutes to downtown Historical Savannah, and less than 20 minutes to major shopping and medical services. You can be on I 16 in 10 minutes and I 95 in 13. Yet you have a peaceful and beautiful community that does offer golf, tennis, and a recreational Lodge. No, noto the degree like Skidaway, but certainly enough to satisfy many. In conclusion, it is my opinion there is not another community that can match the total lifestyle including convenience to major goods and services as Southbridge.

We moved here a year ago from NJ and just love living in Southbridge. We looked all over the south for a place to retire and decided on Southbridge. It's beautiful here; like living in a lovely park. The people are so friendly and come from all over the US and the world really. Young families, mid-career and retired a great mix, it's not just a retirement community. The weather is wonderful most of the year round too. There is plenty to do right here in Southbridge- swimming, dinning, sports, and social events almost anything you like to do is here. Plus we are very close to all the culture and fun of Historic Savannah - 15-20 mins. Tybee Beach is close too. There's shopping galore! Yet if you just want peace and quite it is here in Southbridge. Moving to Southbridge has been the best decision we have ever made. Come see for yourself.

We looked at many other communities but none held the charm of Southbridge or the amenities with a low anual HOA dues. There is something to do here for everyone. The proximity to the airport, 10 minutes. Downtown festivities are only 10 minutes away. We have lots of out of town guests and are always so proud of our neighborhood, plus living on the golf course. Southbridge has many clubs to join, pool, fitness, tennis, bistro and walking. My husband retired in 1998. We started looking at lakes to live on, but would always come back to Southbridge. The drive in is always beautiful and then to walk into our home that we had built, we just couldn't duplicate that. That is why we have been here 24 yr's. Love it. You need to visit, meet the people, we are from all over and truly love everything about our area and life style. I16 and I 95 are right here so travel by car is so easy. Visit Southbridge you won't regret it. Close to shopping for those of us who like to do that!

For me it's like living in a wildlife habitat with great neighbors, yet only 12 minutes from major shopping, restaurants & new state of the art movie theaters. We are just 2 exits from SCAD(Savannah College of Art & Design) - our very own locally started but now internationally famous art college. Come check it out, you will love Southbridge too.

We are lifelong residents of Savannah and chose to build our home here in Southbridge in 1994. After 13 years of living in the house, we knew there was NOWHERE else in Chatham or surrounding counties that we would rather live. So in 2007-2008 we tackled a TOTAL renovation - outside and inside, top to bottom - of our house. We lived in it for the entire 13 months of this massive renovation and our LOVE of this community and what it has to offer led us to go through with such a huge project as this. Here in Southbridge we have the luxury of being in such a wonderful neighborhood that's just in the right spot to be so convenient to SO MUCH in all directions! In our opinion, no other community compares to what Southbridge offers in regard to location. That's just one of many reasons we CAN say there really is NO other place like home in Southbridge!

Southbridge is a wonderful neighborhood, centrally and conveniently located to shopping areas, the airport, off of I16 and only 10 minutes from downtown. Great community for all kinds of people with beautiful golf course, playground, parks, tennis club, ponds for fishing and lodge and spa with pool, workout room, bistro....

I returned to Savannah after being gone for 27 years; Yes, did what almost everyone does, RUN TO THE LANDINGS, oh, the mosquitos, and a few other things, almost made me leave Chatham County. A friend said to check the west side of the county, I looked at the Quarters, and found Southbridge, I found home. The people, golf, the family center, and the lay out and choices of homes. Now with the growth on the west side, shopping everywhere, and more coming, restaurants, family fun centers so much to talk about and really, really enjoy it's Southbridge.!!!

Such a great place to live especially if you love tennis. I have met many residents my age, younger and older on the courts. With a safe place to walk, tennis and golf in the community and club house with a pool who could ask for more.

I have been a member of the golf course since it opened in 1988 and a resident since 1997. I have seen Southbridge grow from 100 lots to the 1200 homes we have now. The quality of homes and families has been a core value since the beginning. It is in a great location with easy access to the interstate, downtown, the airport. My wife and I also enjoy Tennis and the exercise classes at the Grand Lakes Lodge. Come and enjoy our neighborhood!

We moved here from The Landings 2 years ago. We enjoyed our 13 years there. However, Southbridge is much more affordable, more conveniently located to downtown, the airport, and shopping. The community is well maintained, safe, and friendly. Women's Club provides opportunities to meet your neighbors and/or become as involved in this incredible community or maintain your privacy whichever is within your comfort zone. We love our new home and neighbors.

I absolutely love that we bought our home in Southbridge 2 years ago. I have yet to get tired of pulling into the neighborhood and seeing all of the beautiful homes and landscaping. Truly, when I drive pass the Southbridge sign on either entrance at the end of the day , I feel free to relax. I also enjoy the fun summers at the pool and the fabulous social gatherings for both children and adults at the lodge. We're here to stay for good!

We moved here 7 years ago & absolutely love it.It's far enough from downtown for privacy & seclusion but only a 10 minute drive from the middle of Savannah. Whatever your interests are you can find them within this community & lots of friends too.

We have lived in this community for 10+ years and enjoy all the ammenities such as the golf, tennis and pool clubs. We have wonderful neighbors and it is a very social community. Much to do, whether you are athletic, crafty, a cards player or like to try new food and wines we have clubs that do all of the above.
