Brevard, NC (March 18, 2019) – The Connestee Falls Property Owners Association (CFPOA) has announced the hiring of new Head Golf Professional Kurt Stegle to oversee all aspects of the Connestee Falls golf course.
Born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, Kurt started playing golf with his family around the age of 12 and never left the game. Golf quickly became his priority as he has worked in the golf industry since starting high school where he also played competitively. Success in the game came during his sophomore year of high school and he was named the team captain during his junior and senior years. He decided to pursue a career in golf when entering college.
Stegle graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2012 with a degree in Professional Golf Management. He stayed in Southwest Florida and started working at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club in 2013. Stegle worked a variety of roles at Pelican Sound including First Assistant and Interim Head Professional. Kurt gained experience at various golf clubs around Florida during college, including Walt Disney World and PGA National Resorts, as well as private clubs in Naples and Fort Lauderdale. He has volunteered many hours helping to improve Junior Golf through The First Tee and the LPGA Girls Golf Program and has been nominated for PGA Assistant of the Year in the Southwest Florida chapter of the PGA.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Kurt to Connestee Falls,” said CFPOA General Manager/COO Jim Whitmore. “His experience managing private golf clubs is a great fit with our goal of providing the area’s best club and course for members and guests.”
According to Stegle, he is excited about his move to Western North Carolina and the chance to be an integral part of the Connestee Falls management team.
“This is a fantastic Western North Carolina golf course and club,” said Stegle. “I am thrilled with the opportunity to help bring the Connestee Golf program to the next level.”
