Stay Tuned for 2017 News from the Cypress Landing Golf Club

The Cypress Landing 9th Annual Military Appreciation Day will be held on April 1, 2017!!

As retired general and Cypress Landing resident Gordon N., chairman of the this event states “ We must fully honor the debt we have incurred to the tiny fraction of the population that does the fighting for the rest of us.  These men and women represent our greatest treasure”.

Last year, on May 14, 2016, on a gorgeous sunny spring day, the Cypress Landing Golf Club hosted its eighth annual Military Appreciation Day.   The tournament event was our largest ever as we hosted 104 “local” active duty service members from Ft. Bragg Army Base, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Coast Guard Base Support Unit Elizabeth City and the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.

The weather was perfect and from the opening ceremony to the dinner, prizes, and entertainment, our service men, volunteers, and playing Cypress Landing Golf Club members had a special time.  Many military members remarked that Cypress Landing was a great community with a great golf course!

The day of golf is a gesture of appreciation for our military and comes complete with food, beverages, entertainment, and prizes donated from local businesses and individuals.  All proceeds raised are donated to the Fisher House at Camp Lejeune, a home away from home for our “local” wounded warriors and their families.  The Fisher House allows families who are coping with medical crisis to stay together without the added burden of lodging and food costs.  The Fisher House does not receive any tax or military dollars. The event receives wide support, donations, and encouragement from within the entire Cypress Landing community and from outside the community as well.

Following the event, a check for over $7,500.00 was donated to the Fisher House at Camp Lejeune
