Chapel Hill, NC (March 6, 2017) - Although the 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is the centerpiece of Governors Club, there are other sporting options for non-golfers. In addition to Full Golf memberships, the Club also offers Sports Memberships which include fitness, tennis and pool privileges. Below are details on each of these amenities.
Tennis aficionados will love Governors Club. With eight lighted tennis courts for year-round play, more than 100 active tennis players and programs for all ages, finding games and groups is easy. From recreational players to USTA league teams and interclub teams, there is tennis for everyone.
The tennis facilities include six Har-Tru clay surface hydrocourts and two hard courts. Governors Club also has nationally ranked tennis professionals, year-round tennis events and activities, a Junior Tennis Program, a variety of clinics, round robins and mixers throughout the year and an annual Club Championships for men's and women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
From the serious swimmer to those who just want to splash around, there are multiple swimming options. The large zero-entry Outdoor Pool has lap lanes, a water slide, Splash Pool and a Pool Deck shaded by pergolas, making it the perfect spot for swimming and relaxing. In summer, the Pool Grill offers freshly made food and a full range of beverages. And the Indoor Pool, which is open year-round, means you never have to stop swimming.
