Lakewood Ranch has been marking 2015 – its 20th anniversary – in the best way possible: with record sales. 

Sarasota, FL (November 3, 2015) - Since the commencement of building in 1995, there have been approximately 8,800 new homes sold in Lakewood Ranch for $3.5 billion. In addition, there has been approximately $660 million of retail/commercial/office space constructed at the Ranch, providing an abundance of jobs that have contributed in great measure to the local economy.

Currently, residents and business owners within Lakewood Ranch pay $47 million in annual county property taxes and since inception have paid more than $400 million in taxes.

These monies have contributed to the road construction, development of new schools, and the creation of parks, among many other services.

Lakewood Ranch is actively selling in Central Park, Indigo, Harmony, Esplanade, Bridgewater, Country Club, Country Club East, and The Lake Club, with a total of 44 builder models open and 251 homes in these eight communities with homes from $200,000 to $5 million.

In addition, there are four more communities currently under construction:
•    Del Webb (Pulte Group) – 1,300 units, age restricted, currently taking reservations with retail sales scheduled to begin in December;
•    Mallory Park (Pulte Group) – 436 units, single family, townhomes and villas; under construction with models scheduled to begin before the end of 2015, and retail sales scheduled for summer of 2016;
•    Arbor Grand (Standard Pacific) – 305 units, single family and villas, under construction with models scheduled to begin before year’s end and retail sales scheduled for early 2016;
•    Savanna (Meritage) – 475 units, single family, under construction with models scheduled to begin before year’s end and retail sales scheduled for early 2016.

Visitors through the Lakewood Ranch’s information centers and models, totaling more than 20,000 over the same period last year. That number is like to increase even more with the recent remodel of the information center at 6220 University Parkway, and the new center at 11506 Rangeland Parkway, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016. The biggest challenge the Ranch has is keeping up with demand and providing more lots for our builders to sell.

The Ranch is home to 1,050 apartment units with occupancy rates at such a high level that an additional 640 apartment units are in construction with openings scheduled for next year. 

The active employment market, coupled with great schools and amenities, has continued to attract buyers and has made the master-planned community one of the top 10, best-selling in the country for four years in a row.
