Sarasota, FL (May 20, 2014) - The Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch will host the Laxpalooza lacrosse tournament over Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, 2014.
This event is competitive, yet fun, safe and memorable, and will host both boys and girls at all levels in the Southeast Region. More than 35 teams and some 2,000 people are expected to attend the tournament, which will offer challenging competition at all age levels for boys (U9 through HS) and girls (fifth grade through HS) with both A and B level competition for both community and travel elite teams. Teams will be able to compete against other teams from all states including Florida, Georgia, and the southeast region, along with several teams traveling from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York.
”Our tournament in Pennsylvania has always attracted teams from all over the East Coast every year,” said Tournament Director Kevin O’Neill. “By placing in the top three in their respective divisions, these Mid-Atlantic teams are offered an opportunity to come to our Florida tournament.”
According to tournament officials, once participants have competed and played in Laxpalooza, they will “become part of a legacy unlike no other lacrosse tournament event,” making it an annual tradition for lacrosse programs to enjoy year after year.
“We are very excited to be hosting this event at the Premier Sports Campus and not only welcome teams from Florida but also teams from as far as New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland,” said Antonio Saviano, Premier Sports Campus director. “We hope this event will help generate another significant economic impact over the holiday weekend for our local hotels, merchants and restaurants.”
