White Sulphur Springs, WV (May 1, 2012) - The Greenbrier Sporting Club, the luxury residential community at The Greenbrier resort in the foothills of West Virginia's Allegheny Mountains, has announced the construction of three new mountain residences for purchase at Greenbrier Summit Village, as well as an expansion in private, member-only amenities.
The new homes at Greenbrier Summit Village include two impressive timber-framed residences slated for completion in July 2012--one 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath and one 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath, both with more than 3,000 square feet of living space and an 800-square-foot rear porch with mountain and valley views. The third new residence, Treetops, set to break ground soon and open in 2013, will offer nearly 7,000 square feet of living space, and will accommodate as many as 20 guests in 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. A grand double sitting room boasts gallery walls that retract and open the room onto the outdoor stone porch, with its fire pit and spectacular 20-mile views. A gourmet, custom-fitted kitchen is open to the breakfast bay overlooking the pool and outdoor spa.
"This project really comprises what The Sporting Club is all about," says John Klemish, Broker in Charge and Adviser to the Chairman. "These are heirloom residences built with passion that create a legacy for generations to share."
Madison Spencer Architects, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Newport, Rhode Island, is the firm undertaking the design for Treetops located on Summit Village lot 30. “Proportion, balance, and a sound knowledge of craft and materials—these fundamental notions of the building arts guide us in all that we accomplish,” notes Spencer, who lectures on architecture around the country and has practiced all over the world.
Tony Mamone, owner of Pinnacle Group, the construction firm undertaking the Treetops project notes the gravitas associated with such an impressive residence at a historic resort. “My entire organization considers it a great honor to be selected as the PRIME contractor for Treetops. When completed, this unique estate will state very clearly that The Greenbrier, and The Greenbrier Sporting Club, are fully committed to ensuring the tradition continues. The Summit Village and Treetops will signify the long-standing reputation of The Greenbrier resort and its legacy of excellence.”
In addition to the opening of three brand-new residences, The Greenbrier Summit Village neighborhood, located 3,300 feet atop Greenbrier Mountain, will receive an enhancement offering several new member-only amenities. The expansion will include a 9-hole miniature golf course and new play areas opening in May 2012, aimed to offer even more family fun at the mountaintop neighborhood. Future expansion of the Summit Village, to be implemented in 2013, will bring additional play areas and a spray park. These new amenities will join the already popular Summit Lodge and restaurant, Summit Activities Barn with basketball and volleyball courts, outdoor amphitheater, events glade, infinity pool with sweeping Allegheny views, as well as miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails.
"When it comes to all of the ancillary amenities that come with purchasing a home at The Greenbrier, we're untouchable," says Klemish.
