Wimauma, FL (October 14, 2016) – When it comes to maintaining an active lifestyle, Valencia Lakes, the popular 55+ lifestyle community by GL Homes, raises the bar with world-class amenities. From residents looking to lounge by the pool at the opulent 40,000 square foot clubhouse to those looking to connect with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, Valencia Lakes offers an impressive selection of activities to fulfill everyone’s taste.

One unique amenity featured at Valencia Lakes is the Community Garden, which is located in the eight acre Celebration Park. Budding hobbyists and seasoned gardeners have the opportunity to grow their own vegetables and fruit in one of the 54 four foot by 8 foot plots that are managed by the homeowners association and the Valencia Lakes Garden Club, a community club established to provide a friendly place where residents can meet and share a common interest in gardening as a hobby.

“The Community Garden is a popular spot at Valencia Lakes,” said Alex Murphy, club manager at Valencia Lakes. “Many of the new homeowners have come together to work on the garden and it’s great to see the plots bursting with colorful fruits and vegetables.”

A membership to the Garden Club is not required for residents to put down roots and work on their green thumb. Plots can be purchased for $25 a year and are available to all residents on a first-come first-served basis. This fee helps with maintenance for the shaded gazebo, utility sink, compost barrels, cutting station and a shed with lockers for each gardener to store their tools.
