NAPLES, Fla. (Jan. 5, 2016) – iStar, which has introduced a unique lakefront lifestyle at Naples Reserve, was named Developer of the Year by Builder and Developer magazine.
Winners of the annual Pubby Awards were featured in the December 2015 issue and selected by previous winners, contributors, readers and advertisers.
“We are honored to be recognized for creating beautiful communities across the country,” said Steve Magee, executive vice president of iStar, a New York-based company that finances, invests in and develops real estate related projects as part of its fully integrated investment platform. “Since our directional shift in 2008 to include residential development, we’ve focused on creating great projects on high-quality land.”
The magazine lauded the developer for creating energy efficient and eco-friendly lifestyles and for staying ahead and even setting the trends by introducing new-home features, amenities and experiences.
iStar communities like Naples Reserve stand out for their “thoughtful land design,” with a welcoming drive-up experience, curvilinear streets, lush landscaping and parks, Magee told the magazine. “We’ve been successful, because we’re dialed into what our customers want.”
iStar is developing several master-planned communities throughout the country. “We invested in what I call the ‘smile markets’ – southern California, Arizona, Texas and Florida and back up the East Coast,” Magee said. “These are the desirable locations where people want to be.”
Founded in 1993 as a premium financing source in luxury real estate, iStar has completed more than $35 billion in transactions and has a diverse national portfolio including residential and commercial real estate, offices, hotels and entertainment projects.
Builder and Developer magazine is a management resource for professional builders and reaches a national readership of 212,500.
The 688-acre Naples Reserve offers a water-centric lifestyle with 22 lakes, including the 125-acre Eagle Lake with a large tiki hut on the destination Lost Island. Lakes provide prime opportunities for kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding and scenic vistas from Southern Coastal-inspired homes and amenities along the water’s edge. Plans call for 1,154 lakefront homes built by Southwest Florida’s premier homebuilders.
iStar has completed the community’s initial amenities, including the new gatehouse, an elevated cobblestone entry bridge, the island and tiki hut, and the Outrigger Welcome Center, evocative of Key West with its palette of white, turquoise and coral, and wraparound porch overlooking the lake and floating docks.
Eagle Lake offers a mile-long stretch of waterfront nestled against the Picayune Strand State Forest, a 76,000-acre state park with protected pinelands, cypress swamps, marshes and abundant wildlife. Planned lakefront amenities at Naples Reserve include a tennis and bocce ball complex and the under-construction Lakeshore Club, which will offer resort-inspired amenities, including two pools and a 4,700-square-foot community center and a separate 3,400-square-foot fitness club.
Naples Reserve residents receive complimentary one-year social memberships at Naples Harbour, a yacht club along the Gordon River offering a marina, indoor storage for 600 boats, two waterside restaurants and access to Naples Bay.
Furnished homes by Ashton Woods are now open for viewing, and five custom-home models are under construction in Parrot Cay, a neighborhood bordering Eagle Lake and encircling a seven-acre interior lake. JRW Developer Resources represents Naples Reserve’s preferred custom homebuilders: Florida Lifestyle Homes of Fort Myers, KTS Homes, Lundstrom Development, Marvin Development and McGarvey Custom Homes.
Naples Reserve is located off U.S. 41 East, 2 miles southeast of the Collier Boulevard/CR 951 intersection and 15 minutes from I-75, Exit 101. Visit the Outrigger Welcome Center at 148891 Naples Reserve Circle.
