(Wilmington, N.C.) More homes and homesites sold in Brunswick Forest during 2010 than at any time in the community’s four-year history.

According to the development’s closed sales records, 105 homes and 40 homesites, for a total of 145 unit sales were recorded in 2010, representing a volume of more than $41 million. This is the best mark since sales began just four years ago in the Wilmington, NC community.

Homesites at Brunswick Forest begin at $75,000; homes begin in the 200,000’s.

“If the housing market is depressed nationally, it missed Brunswick Forest," said Jerry Helms, director of sales. “ More and more people are coming to the Wilmington, NC area, and more and more people are recognizing the value of what we have to offer in our community. That’s good news for Brunswick Forest, and good news for the Cape Fear Coast.”

More than 710 families have purchased at Brunswick Forest, which Helms says makes it the fastest growing community in the Coastal South.

The sales record comes in the wake of the opening last Fall of Cape Fear National, an 18-hole premium public play Championship golf course which was named to Golf Magazine’s 2010 ranking of Top Ten Golf Course and Links Magazine’s 2010 list of the nation’s 18 most significant golf course openings; the launch of a 40,000 square foot medical center in a major retail and professional center called The Villages at Brunswick Forest at the community’s entrance; and a special welcome to the 10,000th visitor greeted at the community’s Sales and Welcome Center.

Brunswick Forest officials point to factors that include deep developer resources, location just 10 minutes south of Historic Downtown Wilmington, NC, local roots and a growing community whose neighbors keep telling their friends about Brunswick Forest as important reasons for what by any measure appears to be a significant real estate success story during difficult times.

According to Alan Kerry, president of Lord Baltimore Properties, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lord Baltimore Capital Corporation and the sole developer of the community, Brunswick Forest was created “without a penny of debt.” He said a very large initial funding commitment was an integral part of the plan to put infrastructure and amenities in place well ahead of any revenue generated by sales.

“We knew a message of rock solid developer resources and promises kept was an important one,” said Kerry, “especially in a marketplace unsettled by experiences elsewhere. The community is vibrant, growing and—most importantly—securely funded. That’s a message that clearly resonates to the many people who visit us looking for a lifestyle and a home.”

Certainly helping, said Jeff Earp, Brunswick Forest president, is the community’s location just ten minutes south of Historic Downtown Wilmington, NC on US Hwy 17. Residents enjoy a community dedicated to nature and the environment, while still enjoying immediate access to the attractions, area beaches and resources of one of the Coastal South’s most charming cities.

“Wilmington, NC is a real jewel,” said Earp, “attractive, historic, intimate and fun. Our residents can live a natural style inside the community, yet just 10 ten minutes away there are the attractions of a wonderful cosmopolitan, southern city. More and more folks coming from the North stop to admire Wilmington then visit Brunswick Forest. Once they’re here, the decision to make our community their home comes easily.”

Earp is a native of Winnabow, NC and he and his three-generations deep family have been residents of Brunswick County for more than 100 years. Responsible for directing the on-site development, operating and sales and marketing team for Brunswick Forest. Earp earlier joined with Wilmington, NC native, North Carolina State roommate and now President and Chief Investment Officer of Lord Baltimore Capital Management Matt Long to conceive and then ultimately launch the Brunswick Forest community.
