CHARLESTON, SC – The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, the Nationwide Tour’s season-ending event where the top 60 money winners compete for 25 PGA TOUR cards and a spot on the 2011 PGA Tour, announces open enrollment for volunteers at the October 25-31, 2010 event. Over 650 volunteers are needed to staff this world class tournament, which will be televised live on the Golf Channel. Volunteers ages 12 and up can serve in a wide range of areas, and there are many positions available for those who may not have golf knowledge, but want to participate.

Volunteers are required to serve a minimum of three shifts, each lasting four to six hours, with opportunities available beginning Saturday, October 23rd, and concluding on the evening of Monday, November 1st. Committee choices include; Admissions/Will Call, Media, Practice Range, Transportation, Cart Shuttles, Office Administration, Pro-Am, Volunteer Services, Caddie Services, Operations, Scoring Central, Walking Scorers, Hospitality, Parking, Scoring Tents/Runners, Water & Ice, Information, Player Relations, Standard Bearers, Distribution, Marshals, Player Shuttles, and Television.

Adult volunteers, ages 23 and up, are required to pay a $55 fee to participate and will receive the following benefits: two volunteer golf shirts, volunteer badge – admits volunteer all week, volunteer golf hat, complimentary weekly pass – admits a guest all week, complimentary breakfast and lunch on scheduled work days, an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party, and an opportunity to earn one (1) round of golf voucher at the Daniel Island Club for paying volunteers who work three full shifts. Golf vouchers are non-transferable. Cash, check, or money order payments accepted.

Student volunteers, ages 14-22, do not have to pay a fee to participate and will receive the following benefits: volunteer t-shirt, volunteer golf hat, complimentary breakfast and lunch on scheduled work days, volunteer badge – admits volunteer all week, complimentary weekly pass-admits a guest all week, and an invitation to Volunteer Appreciation Party. The student package does not include the opportunity to earn a golf voucher.

The simple registration process includes reviewing the Volunteer Committee list to identify the top three departments that best fit each person’s interests, downloading, completing, and submitting the application, and signing a waiver. Once registered, each volunteer will be contacted by a volunteer chairperson for scheduling.
