Sylva, NC (May 16, 2018) —Balsam Mountain Preserve, a conservation-oriented residential community in the Blue Ridge Mountains, has awarded North Carolina-based construction firm, Vannoy Construction, the contract to build the commercial component of the community’s new Doubletop Village. This will include the Members’ Grille, The Club Tavern and General Store & Golf House. Set in a prime location within the 4,400-acre preserve overlooking Balsam’s Arnold Palmer Signature golf course and Plott Balsam Mountain Range, Doubletop Village is a mountain hamlet of dining and recreational amenities currently under development and is scheduled to open in early 2020. Vannoy Construction specializes in the building of commercial properties, boasting a distinguished portfolio of recent projects through the Southeast.
The upcoming Doubletop Village will become the new heart of Balsam Mountain Preserve and will include the Members’ Grille, Club Tavern and General Store & Golf House, as well as a curated Organic Garden and Great Lawns. The development team at Balsam Mountain Preserve reviewed five leading commercial builders and chose Vannoy Construction for its quality building practices, ample experience and commitment to ‘Honor, Humility, Hospitality and Hustle’ – the firm’s driving principles.

Balsam Mountain Preserve
Balsam Mountain Preserve is a low-density, conservation-orientated private residential community set on 4,400 acres in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville. Surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, the Pisgah National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Balsam Mountain Preserve was created as a “community within a park.” With an ethos centered on land-stewardship, seventy-five percent (3,400 acres) of the property has been placed in a permanent conservation easement, ensuring the preservation of its present park-like state in perpetuity.
