A few weeks ago, during the February school vacation break, I had the opportunity to document Phase I of this year’s boat building project—construction of a stand up paddle board and paddles along with restoration of Bob Katz’s old canoe. It was an inspiring, educational experience for me, but primarily it was a wonderful example of why Eastman was recognized as a 2016 Best Intergenerational Community. I have crafted a photo-essay to tell this chapter of the story of Youth Conservation Corps members’ contribution to Eastman under the tutelage of John Larrabee, Roger Woodworth, and Frank Campisi. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed making it.
