Naples, FL (March 16, 2016) - Members of The Club & Spa at Fiddler’s Creek in Naples already know they enjoy one of the best club experiences anywhere. And residents now have even more reason to love the club: It was recently named a Distinguished Emerald Club, a prestigious honor reserved for only the top 5 percent of private clubs in the world. The club earned the elite status following an on-site visit evaluating the member experience in 10 categories, including golf, dining, fitness and clubhouse.

“Being named a Distinguished Emerald Club is an incredible honor,” said Aubrey Ferrao, president and CEO of Fiddler’s Creek. “We are dedicated to providing an unrivaled golf and club experience at Fiddler’s Creek, and this award recognizes our commitment.” Aubrey Ferrao continued, “our members will be proud to belong to one of the top clubs in the world.”

The Distinguished Club of the World program is presented by BoardRoom magazine to laud private clubs that excel at serving their members. Clubs scoring nine or above on a 10-point system are awarded Distinguished Emerald Club status. Aubrey Ferrao of Fiddler’s Creek is honored by the distinction.

“We’d like to congratulate Fiddler’s Creek for earning Distinguished Emerald Club status and inclusion in an elite list of the world’s best club experiences,” said John Fornaro, the publisher of BoardRoom, one of the most respected trade publications serving private clubs. “Special recognition also goes to the management team, as well as the club’s board of directors, department heads and the entire staff for their efforts in providing an excellent member experience.”

Fiddler’s Creek in Naples was considered for inclusion after receiving peer recommendations by the program’s nominating committee, comprised of private club general managers and industry experts. BoardRoom executives then visit nominated clubs, scoring them on a proprietary system focusing on food and beverage service, golf operations and courses, tennis, aquatics, spa and club facilities.

They also consider intangible qualities such as reputation, traditions, history, community, lore and the hard-to-describe experiences – those intangible qualities – that make a great club. Also important are a sense of pride shared by members, staff, and president Aubrey Ferrao; an atmosphere of family and friendship; and the physical environment.

“Our residents have always been proud to belong to The Club & Spa at Fiddler’s Creek,” said Ron Albeit, general manager and one of nine employees to receive Distinguished Achievement in Leadership awards. “This recognition is one of the top honors a private club can receive. It really gives our members bragging rights.” The Fiddler’s Creek community is honored.
