Daniel Island, S.C. (December 5, 2013)— The Daniel Island Club's Ralston Creek course has been ranked among Golfweek magazine's "Best Residential Courses" for 2014. The course, which was designed by Rees Jones and named among the top 10 "Best New Private Courses" in 2006 by Golfweek, was included among the top 100 residential courses for the magazine's 2014 list. Ranking criteria included ease and intimacy of the course routing, the variety of homes on the course, memorability of each hole, overall landscaping and the overall quality and condition of the course.

At 7,446-yards, Ralston Creek plays to a par-72 and features a classic design that takes advantage of stunning tidal creek and marsh views. The layout incorporates strategically placed fairway and green side bunkers, along with other elements that help create what Jones has described as "all of the elements of a stern test of golf." The course was the site of the PGA Tour's Nationwide Tour Championship for three years.

“With more than 3,200 residential golf courses in the country, a top 100 ranking really puts the Ralston Creek course in the forefront of residential courses," said Greg Keating, Vice President of Operations at the Daniel Island Club. “It's a great validation of the quality amenities we strive to offer at the Daniel Island Club.”

Ralston Creek is among two championship courses at the private Daniel Island Club, located within the 4,000-acre award-winning community of Daniel Island in Charleston, S.C. The Club serves as the recreational centerpiece within Daniel Island Park, Daniel Island's golf and country club neighborhood. Both the Ralston Creek and Beresford Creek golf courses are an integral part of the neighborhood's park-like setting. Homes in Daniel Island Park are oriented around the golf courses, parks, saltwater marsh and tidal creeks, and feature traditional, southern-style architecture. Residents of Daniel Island Park become social members of the Daniel Island Club and enjoy access to the club's outstanding swim, tennis, fitness and social offerings. They may also elect to become golf members of the club.
