Daniel Island, SC (Oct. 8, 2013) - Daniel Island's popular annual fall festival, Park Day, will return to the City of Charleston's Governor's Park on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 11 am to 4 pm. A fall tradition in the Lowcountry, Park Day offers family fun and entertainment for all ages and showcases and supports a diverse range of local charitable organizations.

Among the wide range of activities planned for this year's event are several exciting new sports options, including a Mobile Zip Line, a "Sports Challenge" featuring a triple sports cage, a Boot Camp Obstacle Course and a 30' Climbing Wall, in addition to favorite returning attractions like bungee trampolines, jump castles, a mechanical bull, a giant mountain slide and more. There will also be kite flying stunts and demonstrations, and staff and players from the Family Circle Tennis Center and Charleston Battery will be conducting interactive soccer and tennis demonstrations. Other exhibits and activities include “K-9s In Flight,” a premier Frisbee dog exhibition; dog washing; wild animal exhibits; pony rides; gardening exhibits; face painting and much more.

An action-packed entertainment line-up is also scheduled for this year's Park Day, including performances by Daniel Island's Peace Love Hip Hop, singer Lauren Hall, bluegrass from Common Ground, The Electric Company dance band and The Island Band. Two 3 Ways, a highly energetic band, will cover 80s and 90s hits, Motown and Big Band classics in Park Day's finale performance.

Park Day will also offer more than 20 food and beverage vendors, including a “Food Truck Rodeo” with 14 of Charleston's favorite food trucks, collectively offering tasty treats of all kinds. The Daniel Island Grill will set up an on-site Sports Pub, offering wine, beer and plenty of televisions for watching the day's games.

Since its inception twelve years ago, Park Day has helped raise more than $200,000 for a diverse collection of more than 60 area non-profit organizations, making it one of the region’s most successful and broad-reaching charitable events. Once again this year, proceeds from Park Day activities and events will benefit a collection of participating charities.

Park Day takes place on Saturday, November 9 from 11 am – 4 pm. Admission and parking are free. In order to raise money for participating non-profit organizations, some activities will require a fee. For more information, visit danielislandparkday.com.
