Sunset, SC (Oct. 18, 2012) - The sun may have set on Summer in the Carolinas, but some families are already well on their way to planning their ultimate destination for next year. The Reserve at Lake Keowee broke ground this week beginning site work and construction on its new waterfront neighborhood, Village Point. Since introducing Village Point in June, seven of the 14 homes have been purchased or are under contract.

Charlotte, N.C. residents Greg and Ramona Farish have been considering a second home at The Reserve at Lake Keowee since 2000. Greg plans to retire next year, and when they heard about Village Point, the timing was ripe to become part of the community:

We wanted a place where we could feel like we were getting away from it all, while enjoying a
tight-knit community of other second- and vacation home owners. At Village Point, we have
lake and boat access, and we’ll be close to the activity in the Village. Because our home will be
“lock and go”, we won’t have to maintain a yard or keep the house up. We’re happy to pay a fee
for that! It’s a nice feeling to know that our boat is just down from the house, but we don’t have
to maintain the dock.

For oil and gas executive Steve Newby and his wife Kristina, who live in Atlanta with their two school aged children Taylor and Matthew, Village Point was a clear choice the whole family could enjoy:

Our kids love the lake. They love to hike, kayak, and go to the pool. For us, the keys were the
location of Village Point, and how easy the process is to have a home there. Our new home at
Village Point is within walking distance of the major amenities at The Reserve, and every
amenity is at least within a short cart ride. The neighborhood is essentially prime waterfront
property on Lake Keowee. The Reserve has made it so easy for us – from the purchase to the
building process, to taking care of the home for us.

In June 2012, for the first time in its 12-year history, The Reserve at Lake Keowee released a neighborhood of fourteen homes along an area known as Marina Park, a stone’s throw from the community’s amenity-centric waterfront Village. Calling the neighborhood its “most compelling home packages to date,” The Reserve believes Village Point presents the trifecta of what second-home buyers are seeking: remarkable beauty and quality, flexible floor plans, and value. Well before Village Point at Marina Park was officially announced in June, The Reserve had received marked interest from more than 150 families from across the country, through an
exclusive Interest List.

Village Point embodies the quintessential summer lake cottage and is a haven on the water, featuring pedestrian pathways accented by statuary and manicured, maintenance-free landscaping. Featuring three home plans, ranging in size from approximately 2,650 to 3,750 square feet, homes in Village Point may be customized by adding terrace levels, garages, and upper levels. The neighborhood is located within five minutes or less by foot or golf cart from 10 of The Reserve’s most popular amenities. Pricing for homes in Village Point begin in the
mid-$600,000s, and the homes qualify for entry into the community’s residential rental program.

Homes in Village Point have been designed by the Atlanta, Ga.-based firm Lew Oliver, Inc., and will be built by Pyramid Construction, a well known, trusted general contractor within The Reserve that constructed the community’s Pool Pavilion complex, Tennis & Fitness facility, Guest House Cottages and Laurel Pond neighborhood.
