Music in the Mountains Goes to School
The Music in the Mountains Goes to School program is designed to introduce young people to the joys of music in an effort to keep the spirit alive and classical music thriving for generations to come. In 1999, Ann Flatten and Mischa Semanitzky's vision of Music in the Mountains Goes to School became a reality. Today it is stronger than ever, growing in scope and participation.

Over twenty workshops were held in elementary and middle schools in Durango School District 9R last year. This program brings world-class instruction to the Four Corners Region while fostering the appreciation of classical music and increasing participation in school music programs. It is also designed to enhance the instructional level of music teachers and strengthen student music education programs.
