- LWR Communities, LLC is teaming up with members of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance to celebrate a milestone anniversary – 15 years since the first home was sold in Lakewood Ranch.
Festivities will be held Friday, October 15th at the Sarasota Polo Grounds. Although plans are still in the works, the day promises to be packed with fun and excitement for the whole family. Beginning at 11 a.m., the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance will host its 2nd annual Car-BQ, a boxed lunch fundraiser that allows patrons to pick up a delicious lunch for one or a whole office without getting out of their cars. Lunches will cost $10 per person and include a choice of pulled pork or chicken, sides and dessert. Limited delivery service and on-site picnic facilities will be available, as will opportunities for casual business networking.
The fun gets underway in earnest at 4 p.m. with a family festival for all to enjoy. Trolleys will be available to transport guests to the polo field from a central parking location. Live music will be provided by the Billy Rice Band. Activities will include a bounce house, hay rides and maze, face painting, cowboy and polo-playing exhibitions, and a showing of “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” There will be a pumpkin patch and plenty of local vendors on hand, as well as a preview of the new Mercedes Benz models and interactive displays from the Sarasota Fire Department and Sarasota Sheriff’s Office.
All activities are free. Those who bring in a canned food item for Meals On Wheels and pet items or food for Honor Sanctuary will receive free tickets for food or refreshments and each ticket redeemed will be entered in a drawing for prizes. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the movie and music, but are asked to leave coolers and picnics at home.
Enthusiasm and community support for this event is growing daily. Sponsors signed on to-date include Verizon, State College of Florida, LWR Communities, Minto Communities, Mercedes Benz, Polo Grill, Advice Inc., Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, SRQ Trolley, Sarasota Herald-Tribune and many more. Sponsorships are still available at the following levels: $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000.
