Savannah, GA. (June 28, 2011) - After an extensive search, Scott Mitchell has been hired as Director of Tennis for The Landings Club. Scott has served as Head Professional at the highly acclaimed Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2006. Prior to his assignment at Charlotte CC, Scott was Director of Tennis at a number of public and private facilities in and around the Atlanta area. Scott has an impressive mix of leadership experience, playing credentials and numerous industry affiliations, certifications and awards.

Currently, Scott has earned P1 rating from the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and is well on his way to earning Master Professional designation. Scott is also the 2011-2013 USPTA President, North Carolina Division and has served the PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) as an adult and 10 and under National Tester and Clinician since 1992. A graduate of Indiana University, Scott was an accomplished player in college and continued to play competitively in various professional leagues; most recently, with his wife Ashley. Ashley and Scott earned the #1 national ranking for doubles as a husband and wife team in 2006, and the #2 husband and wife doubles team in 2005 and 2007. Scott also has experience as a high performance coach. He served as assistant coach for the 4-time national champions Men's Georgia Perimeter College team and as Head Coach of the women's team.

Scott brings creative ideas around growing tennis participation at all levels and has consistently demonstrated the ability to lead and grow quality tennis operations. He is tentatively scheduled to begin work at The Landings Club on Monday, July 18 and will be joined in the Coastal Empire with his wife of nine years, Ashley, who was also an accomplished player at Florida State University. Scott and Ashley have 3 children.
