The Angel Tree Committee, made up of REALTORS® at The Landings Company, worked diligently to select and contact the organizations, make up the gift tags, decorate the Angel Tree, and then spread the word throughout the community. They then watched in wonder as residents streamed into the office and adopted every angel (some coming back for second and third angels). In addition to the on-site residents, many who were out of town sent emails and checks in order to participate in the holiday giving.
Despite the less than vibrant economy, The Landings community exhibited its desire to make this Christmas season memorable for many of the children serviced by these outstanding Savannah organizations. Bicycles, toys, dolls, stuffed animals, digital cameras, cash contributions and lots of gift cards, along with bundles of wrapping paper and bows surrounded the Angel tree. Carolyn McInerney, one of the program coordinators, said “I was overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of our residents!” She went on to add, “I’m sure these gifts will generate smiles and excitement on Christmas morning.”
Landings Company Santas left Skidaway Island on December 12th with four truckloads of gifts and delivered them to CASA and Union Mission. Both coordinators were thrilled with the amount of presents provided.
