HOSCHTON, Ga. — Kolter Homes – a leader in developing next-generation, highly-amenitized, master-planned active adult communities in the Southeastern U.S. – recently hosted its third annual Cresswind Kolter Cup at Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes in Hoschton, Georgia. Bringing together more than 250 pickleball players from nine Cresswind and Kolter communities, this event welcomed players from four states – Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina.
Played in a doubles-team format, points are awarded for each match win across six skill divisions. The team with the most total points is then named the overall champion, and this year’s winning team was Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes. In addition to bragging rights, as the overall team champion, Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes will now display the Cresswind Cup trophy in its community clubhouse until next year’s competition.
Coming in second place is last year’s defending champion, PGA Village Verano and third place went to Cresswind Palm Beach, a first-time entry into the competition.
“The Cresswind Cup is more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of community, camaraderie and the active lifestyle that defines Cresswind,” said Mark LaClaire, Director of Lifestyle at Kolter Homes. “Bringing together players from across four states, this year’s event was our largest and most competitive yet. Watching Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes take home the trophy on their home courts was a proud moment, and we’re thrilled to see how this tradition continues to grow each year.”
Additionally, the six community division winners from the nine competing communities across Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina were:
- Women’s Doubles 3.0 – Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes
- Women’s Doubles 3.5 – PGA Village Verano in Port St. Lucie, Florida
- Men’s Doubles 3.0 – Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes
- Men’s Doubles 3.5 – Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes
- Mixed Doubles 3.0 – Cresswind Palm Beach (in a tie-breaker)
- Mixed Doubles 3.5 – Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes
The Cresswind Cup festivities concluded with an awards banquet inside the beautiful Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes Clubhouse, where the individual team awards and the overall Cresswind Kolter Cup winners were presented. Of the 40 planned pickleball courts for Cresswind Georgia, Cresswind Cup players competed across 21 completed courts, and spectators enjoyed a prime vantage point from the “Eagle’s Nest” spectator pavilion. Serving as the community’s signature, the Cresswind Georgia Pickleball Center is estimated to become the largest private pickleball complex in Georgia and one of the largest in the Southeast upon its projected 2026 completion.
Played in a round-robin format, matches and game play were managed by local pickleball tournament expert, Michelle Milliman.
