December 7, 2009, St. Helena Island, S.C. – Dataw Island announced today that it will waive the initiation fee for the first three months for all new country club members. Dataw Island offers varying levels of association from a Full Membership, which includes the full use of golf, tennis, swimming, croquet, fitness and dining facilities; a Golf Membership which includes the full use of golf and dining facilities; an Island Social Membership which provides full use of tennis, swimming, croquet, fitness and dining facilities, with limited golf tee time privileges; or a Dining Membership which allows use of the Dataw facilities and the ability to attend special functions and bridge events.
Members of Dataw Island enjoy the club’s two 18-hole golf courses, Cotton Dike designed by Tom Fazio and Morgan River, designed by Arthur Hills; two putting greens; the driving range, the pro shop; eight Har-Tru tennis courts and newly-constructed tennis pro shop; outdoor swimming pool, bath house and refreshment center; two regulation croquet courts; community center including junior Olympic-size indoor pool and state-of-the-art fitness center; and full-service dining facilities for meetings, special events and private functions.
