Ocala, FL – The final stage of construction is under way and a late-November grand opening is being planned for seven ENERGY STAR® model homes at On Top of the World Communities, 8445 SW 80th St.

Scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 21-22, the grand opening of these furnished model homes marks the first time that virtually every new home built at this award-winning active-adult community is being offered with optional solar power that can reduce power bills up to 75 percent, says Kenneth D. Colen, president of On Top of the World Communities.

On Top of the World is Florida’s first active-adult community where every new home is ENERGY STAR-certified, and the company is pursuing LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for all new homes to emphasize its commitment to sustainability.

The model homes range from 1,705 to 2,300 square feet of living space, and are priced from $195,990 including homesite.

Four models from the Premier Homes Series are the 1,705-square-foot Verbena Grand with three bedrooms and two baths, priced from $195,990, and the Heather Grand at 2,036 square feet of living space, also with three bedrooms and two baths, priced from $225,560. About On Top of the World Communities
On Top of the World Communities, Inc. is one of the oldest privately held construction and development companies in Florida, specializing in desirable Florida active adult retirement living. The company, founded by Sidney Colen, began building in 1947 and has constructed homes for literally tens of thousands of satisfied buyers.

Following the success of the first On Top of the World condominium community in Clearwater, Florida, Colen’s interest grew to include central Florida where, in 1975, he purchased a large parcel of land in Ocala formerly known as Circle Square Ranch. Development began on this land in 1982 and continues today.
