St. Helena Island, SC – Representatives of Dataw Island today announced the promotion of Frankie O’Hara to director of food and beverage services.

In his role, O’Hara’s responsibilities will include overseeing all dining operations and staff, as well as coordinating special events and catering.

A native of Beaufort, O’Hara joined Dataw Island Club in 2003 as a server and bartender. In 2007, he was promoted to bar manager and has served as the interim Dataw food and beverage director since June 2009. Prior to joining the Dataw Island Club, O’Hara worked as a bartender and server at Plum’s, a popular Beaufort bistro.

“Frankie is a great asset for the Dataw Island Club staff and we are confident that his passion for his profession will make him successful in his new role as the director of food and beverage services,” said Ted Bartlett, general manager of the Dataw Island. “His desire to provide optimal events and dining services for our members and guests is a tremendous advantage for the Dataw Island Club.”

“The Dataw Island Club has become a second home for me,” said O’Hara. “The members are gracious and loyal and I pride myself on making every dining experience, casual or upscale, a notable experience day in and day out. I try to make Dataw feel as much like home for the members as it feels for me.”
