Hilton Head Island, SC (January 20, 2017) – LoCo Motion and Callawassie Island became a Guinness World Record Title Holder for Longest Line of Garden Flamingos.
By setting up over 1,000 flamingos, end to end, this event held at Callawassie Island on September 26, 2016, set a Guinness World Record. The festive nature of this bright pink animal has made it a LoCo Motion staple when decorating for each year’s festivities and has officially made last year’s event “one for the books.”
This record was set during an event that benefits the Norma Pfriem Breast Center. The 2016 fundraising event, LoCo Motion is a three-day breast cancer awareness run/walk. On this day, they highlighted pink flamingos.
This annual fundraiser for breast cancer research takes place across three different Lowcountry islands providing a scenic ten-mile course for the walk/run. Every penny of registration and sponsorship fees are donated to breast care providers for life-saving screening, treatment and research.
LoCo Motion is the signature fundraising event dedicated to funding breast cancer education, screening, treatment, and clinical research. It’s personal, it’s purposeful, and it is a party!
