Aiken, SC (January 7, 2016) - Woodside Plantation, a beautiful gated community located in picturesque Aiken, South Carolina, has consistently been awarded and ranked among the top locations for retirement, and there’s never been much surprise there. Between the affordable cost of living in the area, welcoming atmosphere, bustling downtown, availability of stunning custom homes at great values and amenities galore, the community has been setting and raising the bar for almost 30 years now. However, with the closing of an action-packed year full of growth and development, expect to see even greater things from this community for many more years to come!

The Village at Woodside Plantation, a neo-traditional neighborhood and amenity to Woodside Plantation, blossomed in 2015. This area of the community focuses on combining dining, shopping and healthcare into one walkable neighborhood, and with the park and green space, walking trails, and health and wellness center there as well, The Village is attracting more and more attention each day. The first dining option available to residents there, Mario’s Italian Kitchen, opened with great success in The Village in 2015, and construction began on several other eateries there as well that will begin opening in early 2016: AnShu Asian Café (a gourmet Asian Fusion restaurant), Ridgecrest Coffee Bar, and Mezza Luna Bakery. We could not be more delighted to see these dining options right outside of residents’ front doors, and love receiving feedback on how happy it makes them as well!

The Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation, exclusive to Woodside residents, had an incredible 2015 as well. We were thrilled to announce the opening of our brand new resort-style pool! With its ADA-approved zero entry slope and heated water capabilities, it’s an amenity we know our residents can safely and happily access year-round. There’s no greater sight than walking out to the pool to see friends sharing drinks and dining at the poolside cafe, or seeing grandchildren from across the country splashing around together making new friends. In addition to the pool opening, the Reserve Club also welcomed Andrew Burrow to breathe new life into the racquet program here, and he has exceeded all expectations for our members! Burrow, who won more than 100 matches during his time at the University of Miami and went home with the NCAA Singles title in 1987, has exponentially increased member participation in both tennis and pickleball, and successfully got The Reserve Club USTA certified in 2015! (Be on the lookout for tournaments hosted here next year!)

Our last highlight from the 2015 reel saw the opening of a brand new park and neighborhood that we’re delighted to report is already nearly sold out! Summer Hill Park, a beautifully lush and landscaped community amenity, features a stone and timber picnic pavilion, community lake with fountain, and peaceful lighted walking path that connects into the Woodside network of walking trails. There are only a couple of homesites still available in the neighborhood that share gorgeous views of both the park, and the 15th hole of our picturesque Hollow Creek Golf Course.

We thank you all for an incredible 2015 filled with making dreams come true for both new and future residents. In 2016, resolve to visit Woodside Plantation to discover the exciting plans for this new year! Your friends at Woodside hope that this New Year is a happy and prosperous one for you and your family, and whether you're adding fitness goals, travel plans, or financial goals to your list of New Year's Resolutions, make sure that taking advantage of our Adventure Awaits package tops your list!
