Sunset, SC (Nov. 25, 2013) – The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation raised more than $31,000 through its 5th Annual Charitable Foundation Golf Classic on October 22nd. Proceeds from this annual, public event, held on The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, go to benefit five local Upstate charities: Pickens County Meals on Wheels, Pickens County’s Feed a Hungry Child, Prevent Child Abuse Pickens County, Pickens County Senior Center, and Helping Hands Children’s Shelter.

Presented by The Reserve at Lake Keowee, this year’s tournament sold out by having 128 players who participated in the tournament, up 14% from 2012. Pictures from the tournament can be found at The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s website.

“This year’s Charitable Foundation Golf Classic was a tremendous success, and will significantly benefit the five beneficiaries selected by the Foundation,” said Kevin Greenawalt, co-chairman of the Charitable Foundation Golf Classic. “The increase in tournament participation is a testament to the mission of The Reserve at Lake Keowee Community and Charitable Foundation as a whole. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting local Pickens charities, and we are glad that the Charitable Foundation Golf Classic has contributed to that mission in a substantial way.”

The Charitable Foundation, part of The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Community Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to funding outreach and charitable giving in the community. Members of The Reserve annually select charitable organizations for the Foundation to support. In addition to providing volunteer support, The Foundation makes a donation to each charity, made possible by proceeds from this tournament and the BMW Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX, as well as a portion of all The Reserve’s company real estate transactions.

The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation will announce its total charitable donation and present checks to representatives of each benefiting on December 20, 2013 at 6:45 p.m., immediately before the Sean David Anderson Christmas Concert in Founders Hall.

The 2014 Annual Charitable Foundation Golf Classic will be held on October 21, 2014 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
