(Ormond Beach, Fla.) May 15, 2012— Plantation Bay in Ormond Beach will once again play host to final stage qualifying for the Ladies’ US Open Championship on Tuesday, May 15. The event will feature some of the best up and coming players from around the world competing to earn a spot in the 2012 Women’s US Open Championship.

Maria Tuohy, general manager of Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club, said the tournament is scheduled on the North and South golf courses of Club de Bonmont at Plantation Bay.

Qualifiers in the 36-hole stroke play tournament will earn a spot at the Women's Open Championship to be played July 5-8 at Black Wolf Run in Kohler, Wis.

Plantation Bay Golf Professional Ulrika Smith has entered the tournament and hopes to qualify for the US Open for 2012.

Tuohy said tee times and pairings listings for the tournament will be available in the Plantation Bay golf shops prior to play. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come watch the tournament, Tuohy said, but spectator golf carts will not be permitted.
