(Greensboro, Ga.) – Reynolds Plantation’s Lake Club Pool and Amenity Center’s Phase II design has won a Merit award from the South Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Wood & Partners (WPi), a regional land planning and landscape architecture firm, received the Merit award in the Design Category presented at South Carolina’s recent ASLA Annual Conference.

“As a foreground to an incredible lake view, the upper pool terrace is designed to open towards the lake. The upper terrace provides a tranquil lounging and sun basking pool environment with a reflective mirrored pool surface that vanishes on an infinity edge across a horizon view to the lake. Cascading over a six foot water fall, the lower plunge pool and terrace are designed to create a more intimate and informal grotto like environment, without disrupting upper level views and softened by the relaxing sounds of plunging water,” says Todd Theodore at Wood & Partners, Inc. about the infinity pool at the Lake Club.

Together, WPi and Reynolds Plantation worked to design the addition to the Lake Club Pool and Amenity Center. The design was geared towards adult use with lounging decks, fire pits, cabana bar, hot tub, tanning decks, arbors, lighting for night time activities, and the opportunity to experience multiple intimate settings.

“We have worked with Wood & Partners on several projects here at Reynolds Plantation over the years,” says Mike Kelly, executive vice president of Planning and Development at Reynolds Plantation. “They have done a good job of helping deliver the vision our Planning and Development Group has created in order to help meet the needs of our members and their guests. We are proud of the Lake Club and proud to have been involved in creating this award-winning amenity.”
