Murrells Inlet, SC (January 5, 2017) - Wachesaw Plantation Club’s golf course reopened in September 2016 after three months of renovations. The Tom Fazio-designed, award-winning course’s greens were upgraded to Champion Bermudagrass, which is resistant to heat and better-suited to the climate. The Champion Bermuda greens have been well received by the entire membership. These greens enable maintenance staff to provide a consistent and superior playing surface throughout the year.
Located along the Waccamaw River, the course features rolling terrain and elevation changes uncharacteristic for the area with giant oaks draped with Spanish moss. The course has received multiple awards, including Best in the Myrtle Beach area by Golf Digest, Golf Week Magazine’s Top 100 Residential Golf Courses in America, South Carolina Golf Association’s Club of the Year, and repeated recognition by Golf Week and Golf Digest as among the best courses in South Carolina.
