Tampa, FL -
MiraBay, by Newland Communities, is giving community visitors yet another reason to check out the coastal approach to Florida living.
In addition to its breathtaking views and direct access to Tampa’s shorelines, MiraBay is now offering visitors the chance to take home a custom, tandem kayak, handcrafted in Maine, as a part of the master-planned community’s new Toast the Coast promotion and sweepstakes.
Along with this promotion, Toast the Coast is offering $5,000 in options or upgrades to help the winner finally build his or her dream home on the coast, courtesy of MiraBay builders.
Potential home buyers and visitors will receive a chance to delight in the true essence of coastal living by winning the ideal vessel to explore the area. Beginning in November, visitors to the MiraBay Welcome Center can enter to win the custom, tandem kayak handcrafted at Lincoln Canoe & Kayak in Freeport, Maine. The kayak has been named the MiraBay Explorer and will be on display at the Welcome Center until early 2010 when one lucky winner is chosen.
MiraBay resident Ken Fink, a kayak expert, transported the custom kayak from Maine to MiraBay’s Welcome Center to be displayed for the sweepstakes.
“I already had two kayaks on order for some MiraBay friends when I got a call that Newland wanted to give away a kayak as a promotion,” says Fink. “The timing worked out beautifully and I was able to help have this special MiraBay kayak constructed specifically to meet Newland’s needs.”
The custom kayak is a “Two Lites” model named for two lighthouses located on Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The Two Lites is a classic that is built for comfort and speed. At less than 49 pounds, it’s a sleek, fast tracker and is lighter than some single kayaks. It offers two roomy cockpits, as well as bow and stern compartments for additional gear.
“Along with some great promotions on new homes, we want to draw attention to MiraBay’s unique amenities—the lagoon and the canoe trails,” says Vaike O'Grady, marketing director for MiraBay. “We thought an opportunity to win a brand-new kayak made sense as a way to ‘toast the coast.’ In fact, weekend visitors to our Welcome Center can celebrate the MiraBay lifestyle with a complimentary MiraBay Mimosa.”
MiraBay by Newland Communities is a 750-acre waterfront residential community located 20 miles south of Tampa in Apollo Beach, Florida. The community features The MiraBay Club, a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse with a spa, fitness center, resort-style pool, and tennis and basketball courts. Upon completion, MiraBay will have about 1,900 single-family homes, custom homes, townhomes and villas. The community is adjacent to Wolf Creek Nature Preserve and offers a 135-acre man-made lagoon and a 3.5-mile canal system with direct boating access to Tampa Bay. MiraBay was honored by the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission for having the Tampa Bay area’s best master-planned community design in 2002, and its homebuilders have also won national design awards. www.mirabay.com.
