NAPLES, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2016) – Naples Reserve’s new Welcome Center introduces visitors to the sights, style and signature taste of the 688-acre lakefront community. From the moment they arrive, visitors will experience Naples Reserve’s island hospitality with a token at the gatehouse that is redeemable at the Welcome Center for the signature YKnot drink.
Located in the recently completed Island Club, the center welcomes guests with an 850-gallon cylindrical aquarium filled with Florida fish, custom displays detailing the community’s lifestyle story and Southern Coastal-inspired homes, and the opportunity to partake in lake and island cruises.
“With this beautiful center now completed, we can really showcase this wonderful community,” said Don Mears, vice president/land and development with iStar, the developer which created Naples Reserve. “It’s our goal that every visitor experiences the unique lifestyle we offer here from the moment they come through the gatehouse and cross that scenic cobblestone bridge.”
Created with Key West and other idyllic island destinations in mind, Naples Reserve emphasizes lakefront living with homes and amenities along the water’s edge.
The Welcome Center’s aquarium introduces visitors to the blue tang, red grouper, queen and blue angels and other fish that inhabit Florida waters. It was designed by Fort Lauderdale’s Living Color Aquariums, whose clients include several Disney theme parks, Bass Pro Shops and the Florida Aquarium in Tampa.
As guests sip their complimentary YKnot drink, they can embark on a self-guided tour of the center through interactive displays, a topographic table offering a scaled-down, three-dimensional view of the entire community and information about Naples Reserve’s neighborhoods, builders and amenities.
Kathy Roman, senior designer with The Decorators Unlimited in Palm Beach Gardens, designed the Welcome Center to reflect the ambience of the community and blend with the rest of the building.
“It has the same coastal feel with blues and whites,” she said. “We purposely made it look like it belongs in the clubhouse, and yet still tells the Naples Reserve story. When you walk in, the first thing you see is the beautiful aquarium. Its curved glass walls allow graphics and displays to be viewed from any angle.”
The topo table’s maple trim echoes the shade of the cypress tongue-and-groove vaulted ceilings above the Island Club’s grand hall and Latitudes Cafe. Walls are accented with wainscoting and textured surfaces behind cypress-hued lightboxes add depth. A subtle pattern in the blue carpet emulates large water drops.
“The Naples Reserve story is told throughout the center with large graphics, interactive displays and TVs,” Roman said.
Guests can also explore the 125-acre Eagle Lake and visit Kontiki Island with its oversized tiki hut aboard the community’s two Duffy boats, Tranquility and Little Skipper. The cruises depart from the neighboring Outrigger Center’s floating docks. Paddleboards, kayaks and canoes are also available for resident use.
The Island Club’s Key West-inspired architecture features aqua blue-painted shake and HardiePlank lap siding, white trim and louvered shutters, dormers and metal roofs. Inside, the 5,160-square-foot clubhouse offers a freestanding stone fireplace between the hall and cafe. Latitudes Cafe offers large family-style tables and a community chalkboard wall for messaging.
The club’s resort-inspired amenities include a pool, beach volleyball and bocce ball courts, a fire pit, an event lawn and the Chat ‘n Chill Tiki Bar serving umbrella drinks. It also has a large beach along Eagle Lake.
The Island Club offers a separate 3,500-square-foot fitness club featuring state-of-the-art equipment, a weight room and group fitness studio.
Residents will also enjoy Match Point, a lakefront tennis and pickleball court complex, scheduled to open in January 2017.
Additional planned amenities include a tot lot, two dog parks and a meandering biking, hiking and jogging linear park navigating a loop road circling Naples Reserve. Designed to engage residents with their natural environment, it will provide an alternative mode of transportation throughout the community.
iStar recently introduced new preferred builders and additional neighborhoods, several offering the opportunity to build personal floating docks along Eagle Lake to enjoy paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and even their own electric boats, as well boats with motors up to 2.5-horsepower.
