NAPLES, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2016) – Naples Reserve’s Key West-inspired Outrigger Welcome Center and two of its custom single-family model homes received a combined five Sand Dollar Awards, recognizing them among the best in Naples and Collier County.
Presented annually by the Collier Building Industry Association’s Sales and Marketing Council, the coveted awards honor the area’s top builders, architects, interior designers and communities.
EECON Construction Services of Naples, Marvin Development and KTS Homes were named Sand Dollar Award winners during the sold-out Sept. 24 ceremony. Naples Reserve’s sales center and model homes embrace the community’s emphasis on Southern Coastal architecture, ideal for its water-centric lifestyle.
The Outrigger Welcome Center, evocative of iconic Key West architecture with its metal roofs, a widow’s walk and palette of turquoise, beige and white, received the Sand Dollar Award for best sales center. Built by EECON Construction Services of Naples and conceived by community developer iStar, the building features a wraparound porch with sweeping views of the 125-acre Eagle Lake. The sales center introduces visitors to community amenities, lifestyle and homes, and also caters to resident paddlers, offering floating docks and a kayak launch.
Marvin Development Corporation won the top Sand Dollar Award in the single-family home category priced from $1,250,001 to $1.5 million. The Product Design of the Year Award was earned for Marvin’s Captiva model, a three-bedroom, three-bath, 3,166-square-foot luxury home. The home includes a great room with 15-foot cathedral ceilings and wall-to-wall sliding glass doors that span 10 feet high by 24 feet wide, a large dining room with mitered glass and a wine bar, and an open kitchen complete with a wall-to-wall pantry.
The master suite features a sitting room and a bathroom with a central tub, nestled in a round accent wall, and a walk-around shower. Also included in the Coastal-style home are a den with walk-in closet, three-car garage and a full pool bath.
The plan was designed for Florida’s unique indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The outdoor living area is visible and accessible from all main areas of the home and includes a large summer kitchen, a coral stone-faced fireplace, wood-covered ceilings, a large gathering area, and heated pool and spa.
KTS Homes received three Sand Dollar Awards for the Newport, a three-bedroom custom model, also in Parrot Cay. The 3,030-square-foot Newport was recognized for best kitchen design in the $50,001 to $100,000 category, and master suite and specialty feature – both in the over $100,000 category.
The kitchen functions as the heart of the home, incorporating a dining area and flowing into the adjoining great room. Zero-corner sliding glass doors open the kitchen to outdoor spaces. The room also features contrasting cabinetry finishes and countertop surfaces, state-of-the-art appliances and naturally aged wood inserts in the stone floor that echo the ceiling design.
The Newport’s master suite features zero-corner sliding glass doors in its sitting area, a tub for two and a large walk-in closet with direct access to the laundry room.
The ability to change the intensity and color of the LED lighting in the great room ceiling received the Sand Dollar Award for best specialty feature. The dramatic ceiling has channel-like trays and beams that appear to float with the linear elements repeated as wood inserts in the stone floor.
The Newport also offers a study, three-car garage, two full baths, two half-baths and an infinity-edge pool and wood deck.
The model was previously recognized as the best single-family home in Florida, claiming the Grand Aurora Award from the Southeast Building Conference for a home in the 3,000 to 3,499 square feet category. Its kitchen received an Aurora Award in the multistate contest.
