2015 Camp to Include Picnic with the Saints, Scrimmages and Practice Sessions with Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots
White Sulphur Springs, WV (July 15, 2015) - The Greenbrier, the classic American destination resort in the foothills of West Virginia's Allegheny Mountains, has announced the schedule for the New Orleans Saints 2015 Training Camp at the resort, from July 30th through August 20th, 2015.
The New Orleans Saints will begin training camp on July 29th with players reporting for physicals, meetings, and strength and conditioning tests. The Saints will hold their first non-padded on-field practice, open to the public on July 30th from 8:50am-11:50am, followed by a walk-through from 4:30pm-5:30pm. Throughout their time at The Greenbrier, the New Orleans Saints will hold 29 practices, including a Black and Gold Scrimmage and joint practice sessions against the Super Bowl Champions, the New England Patriots. All practices and scrimmages will be open to the public and media.
Picnic with the Saints: Fans are invited to join in celebration of the players and coaches for a Picnic with the Saints on August 9th, from 6pm-7:30pm immediately following the team's practice. Tickets to this event will include "Meet & Greets" with the players and coaches, along with autograph and photograph opportunities! Limited tickets are available for a purchase price of $10, and are available now for pre-order. Guests who purchase in advance online should bring their checkout receipt and the credit card that was used to place the order to Will Call (located at the White Sulphur Springs Water Plant parking lot at 1266 Big Draft Road, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986) to receive their tickets.
Scrimmage: Come out and support the Saints for their Black and Gold Scrimmage, August 7th. This event is open to the public from 8:50am-11:40am.
Practice with the New England Patriots: On Wednesday, August 19th and Thursday, August 20th, the New Orleans Saints and the New England Patriots will have joint practices. Times will be available in the near future. There will be additional parking provided at the State Fair of West Virginia Fairgrounds off of AEI Drive on August 19th and 20th only. Parking is limited and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The transportation fee is $5 per adult and $2 per child 12 and under.
Practice updates and special events: Media and fan alerts, updates and schedule changes will be made daily on www.neworleanssaints.com (once training camp starts), and on the team's Twitter (@Saints) and Facebook pages (facebook.com/neworleanssaints). Please note that practices at The Greenbrier may be cancelled or closed to the public in the event of inclement weather. Practice times and field locations are subject to change with little or no advance warning at the discretion of the Football Operations Staff. Updates are promptly available on the club's digital media platforms.
Parking and Admission Information: For fans wishing to attend workouts, admission is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited bleacher seating is available; please note: there is no reserved seating. Additional seating on the berm is available. There is no admission charge for watching training camp practice. Parking for spectators will be located at the White Sulphur Springs water plant (Address: 1266 Big Draft Road, WSS, WV 24986). Parking is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spectators will pass a security check and then board on-site charter buses for the short ride to the practice facility. This is the only form of transportation that is allowed to enter the training camp facility. Personal vehicles, walk-ins, and private buses/motor coaches are not permitted.
The transportation fee is $5 per adult and $2 per child 12 and under. The ticket will also enable you access to all Greenbrier property activities and include a voucher for a discounted retail item. Transportation will run continuously throughout the day taking spectators between the parking lots, football facility and the resort. Please review the below bus schedule.
Lodging: The Greenbrier has availability throughout the Saints training camp so please call their reservations team for rates and availability.
Player Autographs: Following each practice, Saints players will sign autographs for fans. Available players will sign autographs if weather, time and other circumstances permit. Please note, however, that autographs are not guaranteed.
Still Photos and Video: Fans are welcome to take photos of the players during training camp. However, video is prohibited. Saints staff may request at any time that you cease using those devices.
Hand-Wanding/Prohibited Items: Purses larger than a clutch bag; coolers; briefcases; backpacks; fanny packs; cinch bags; non-approved seat cushions; luggage or bags of any kind; computer bags; camera bags; video cameras; weapons; knives; pepper spray; food or drink.
Concessions: There will be a variety of food and drink available for purchase on site. Drink and food from the outside are not allowed on the premises.
Restrooms: Restrooms are available at all training camp locations.
Special Needs: Visitors with special needs should see a Saints or Greenbrier representative for appropriate assistance. An ADA bus and special viewing area is available for fans with special needs.
Practice Access: Practices will be open in their entirety to pre-approved accredited media only. Members of the media are asked to email their request for practice access to Matt Mendelson (firstname.lastname@example.org) at least 24 hours in advance of the day (or days) on which they wish to cover practice. Members of the media will park next to The Greenbrier Stables on Route 60 (1/2 mile west of The Greenbrier's Main Security Gate). The stables are located on thesouth side of the street. Upon parking, media will check in at the Media Work Room where they will be credentialed. Media will be escorted to the practice fields 10 minutes prior to the start of each workout.
Player Access: On a day with two workouts, players will be available following the morning session only. Select players will be made available on a regular basis. A list of players scheduled will be sent out every few days via email. Additionally, players will be available for on-field interviews following practice. It is recommended that all interview requests be made at least 24 hours in advance. For interview requests for QB Drew Brees, please contact Fitz Ollison (email@example.com). Note: Due to limited space and size constraints, there will be no open locker room media sessions during training camp.
Coach Access: On a day with two workouts, Head Coach Sean Payton will be available following the morning session at the banner, with his availability being held post-practice following a one-a-day workout. Photos and Video: Most practices will be open throughout its entirety for full video and photography shooting. On specified days during training camp, still photography and videotaping are only allowed during individual position drills or when players are entering the practice fields. (This includes the special teams' portion of practice.)
Tactical Information: As consistent with the past, nothing can be reported that is of a tactical nature. Formations, who is lining up where, who is rushing the quarterback (and from where), gimmick plays, etc. are included in tactical information.
Injuries: Saints' policy is that the media are not allowed to report on injuries that happen during practice until such time as Head Coach Sean Payton addresses the situation following practice.
Electronic and Battery-Powered Equipment: When the team is practicing in the indoor facility and when the practices are closed to the public, use of cell phones, Twitter, blogging, etc. are prohibited. When practices are open to the public, media are allowed to Tweet, blog, etc., with the exception of reporting on injuries and tactical information (please see above).
Live Broadcasting of Content: Interview availabilities, open practice sessions and other team activities on where the club holds a football-related activity may not be broadcast live by an individual or media outlet, even with social media applications, without prior written approval from the Saints communications staff.
