VENICE, Fla. (June 22, 2015) – Two of WCI Communities’ golf courses have been named to Golf Advisor’s list of the Top 25 Courses in Florida, based on more than 30,000 golfers’ 2014 ratings and reviews.
Venetian Golf & River Club earned the number four spot on the list. Golfers gave high marks in the “condition of the overall facility” category for the 18-hole championship golf course designed by Chip Powell, as well as the 20,000-square-foot golf club in the 1,039-acre master-planned community located along the Myakka River in Venice.
Ranking 22nd, Sarasota National Golf Club offers an 18-hole Gordon Lewis-designed golf course that is certified as an Audubon International Signature Sanctuary. Golf facilities at Sarasota National include a pro shop, driving range, and chipping and putting greens. The community’s new 25,000-square-foot clubhouse is more than 60 percent complete and will include a resort-inspired pool with lap lanes, a poolside tiki bar, bocce ball, pickleball and tennis courts. More than 1,300 acres of the community are designated for preservation, conservation and open space.
