Bella Vista Village, AR (August 20, 2014) - The 2014 Memory Maker Triathlon and Aqua Bike benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association will take place Saturday, Aug. 23, at Bella Vista Village’s Lake Windsor.
The race will begin at 7:15 a.m. at London Park and then move onto the area roads around Bella Vista. The London Landing Park and boat launch will be closed from 9 p.m. Aug. 22 to 2 p.m. Aug. 23 to accommodate the triathlon.
Hundreds of athletes are expected to participate in the event aimed at raising money for and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
The racing events available are:
A sprint distance triathlon, which includes a 500 meter swim, 15-mile bike ride and a 5 kilometer run.
An olympic distance triathlon, which includes a 1,500 meter swim, 24.8-mile bike ride and a 10 kilometer run.
A sprint distance aqua bike, which includes a 500 meter swim and a 15-mile bike ride.
An olympic distance aqua bike, which includes a 1,500 meter swim and a 24.8-mile bike ride.
Events can be competed in individually or as teams.
