Vero Beach, FL (June 20, 2014) - Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club Community Association is proud to announce that it was the recipient of the 2014 Florida Communities of Excellence Award in the Civic Volunteerism & Advocacy small community category.
This award recognizes community associations that actively contribute to civic welfare and improving society through creation of volunteerism programs to support local a nd regional non-profit and charitable causes.
Now in its sixth year, the Communities of Excellence Awards is the only statewide recognition program for condominium and homeowner associations. Orchid Island competed in the largest field of submissions in the history of the Awards. The community was recognized at the annual Communities of Excellence Conference & Awards Gala in Orlando May 2.
"Receiving this recognition is solely a result of the generous and charitable work that Orchid Island residents have been doing for many years. We are thrilled to be honored in this category," shared Larry Hoffman, Orchid Island Property Manager.
The Florida Communities of Excellence Awards represents the pinnacle of achievement for community associations. Founded by the Florida Community Association Journal and the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff, the coveted Awards focus on innovative practices in condominium and homeowner association from across the state. Winners are chosen from smaller communities (up to 400 units) and larger communities by a panel of independent experts, including representative of leading state and local government departments and agencies.
"We are now in our sixth year of celebrating what's good and important about communities in our state," said Alan Penchansky, Executive Director of the Awards.
"The Awards have become a highly anticipated annual event for Florida's communities and for the people involved in the numerous businesses and industries that serve their needs."
