Palm Coast, FL (May 9, 2014) - Grand Haven Realty formally presented the donation check to Mended Little Hearts culminating the campaign to help area children with heart conditions.

Long time Grand Haven resident and Grand Haven Realty agent Diane Thornton spearheaded the effort.  The donation capped a fund drive to help her grandson Cooper Ascone and many other children who suffer from congenital heart defects (CHD.) Thornton accepted the check for $2,200 on behlaf of the Mended Little Hearts of Volusia County from Grand Haven Realty President Jim Cullis.

Thornton said Cooper is currently doing great and the family is thrilled with his progress after several tough months of treatment. He was the official Mended Little Heart representative accepting the Grand Haven Realty donation from his grandmother on behalf of the many families who depend on the organization for support as they battle this difficult illness.

"This means so much to our family and many others with young children battling CHD," said Thornton.  "Kids like my grandson Cooper are real fighters but their need is great and we are so thankful for everyone who helped Grand Haven Realty make this donation possible."
