(March 11, 2014) – Painted furniture, a fresh palette of blues and pinks, and walls accented with painted millwork convey an ambience of coastal elegance in the Medina model home, recently completed and open for viewing at Sarasota National. The two-bedroom, two-bath villa model features interior design by Carol Jean Annand of CJ Décor selected by WCI Communities, which is developing the 2,400-acre Venice community.
The Medina is one of seven new model homes complete or nearly-complete at Sarasota National.
The villa floor plan offers a den, dining room and great room within 1,593 square feet of living area and features tray ceilings in the great room and owner’s bedroom. It has 2,165 total square feet, including an attached two-car garage and covered lanai overlooking a swimming pool.
“The model is very casual but has an elegant feel to it,” said Annand. “It’s very playful with fun colors like fresh blues mixed with pink and floral prints and patterns with punches of color. A lot of the furniture is painted in blues with hand-painted details.”
Tile flooring provides a neutral backdrop in the model’s main living areas, where the great room design combines dining room and kitchen and creates gathering areas for family and guests. Sliding glass doors extend inside areas out to the 150-square-foot lanai.
Blue painted finishes are introduced in the great room’s entertainment center and in the dining room chairs, which feature mixed patterns and blue button accents. White picture-frame molding accents the dining room’s blue walls.
The kitchen, which offers a free-standing island and walk-in pantry, has maple cabinetry with a stained nutmeg finish, cream-toned granite countertops and a tumbled stone backsplash.
Combinations of creams, whites and aqua lend a relaxed feel to the owner’s suite, designed with a cream-toned headboard, white dresser with glass doors, shimmers of silver in bombe-styled nightstands, and a mix of aquas in patterns and window treatments.
The carpeted owner’s bedroom also offers a large walk-in closet, and its bathroom has a nutmeg-stained maple vanity with his-and-her sinks and listellos accenting the tiled shower.
Coastal reference is introduced in the second bedroom, accented with seahorse-themed window treatments.
The Medina floor plan is priced from $230,990 and is one of five villa designs available at Sarasota National.
WCI’s newest community, Sarasota National offers an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Gordon Lewis and certified as an Audubon International Signature Sanctuary. The golf facilities include a pro shop, driving range, and chipping and putting greens.
The community encompasses 2,400 acres, with 1,300 acres designated for preservation, conservation and open space. The community is approved for 1,584 homes, including 800 homes surrounding the golf course and country club portion of the community.
Homebuyers can choose from home designs ranging from 1,572 to more than 2,500 square feet of living space, with prices starting in the low-$200,000s.
Future planned amenities at Sarasota National include a resort-style clubhouse with dining and gathering spaces, fitness, tennis courts and swimming.
