Bluffton, S.C. (November 15, 2013) – As part of its ongoing monthly lecture series, Hampton Lake will host local historian and author, Jeff Fulgham, for a lecture and book signing of his recent book, The Bluffton Expedition: The Burning of Bluffton, South Carolina, During the Civil War. A soldier himself, Fulgham gives an enlightening discussion of this Civil War event also known as the “Bluffton Movement of 1844”. He also will discuss its significance as well as the history of antebellum Bluffton. The event will take place at 11:00am Wednesday, November 20th at the Lakehouse at Hampton Lake, Bluffton, SC.

“We are excited to have Jeff Fulgham, local author and U.S. Military soldier give his well researched insight to this historic Civil War event that took place in Bluffton. It will be an interesting lecture for history buffs and those who simply would like to learn more about Bluffton,” said Catherine Guscio, Director of Fun Hampton Lake.

The event is free and open to the public. Following the lecture and book signing, guests are invited to enjoy lunch at Backwater Bill’s, the community’s lakefront restaurant 11:30am to 2:30pm (credit card only).
