(August 20, 2013) - Winterfest organizers have released the names of seven additional acts scheduled to appear at the two-day celebration of music, scheduled for March 29-30 at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. Joining the lineup are Ty Herndon, The Alabama Blues Brothers, Hotel California, The Backtrack Blues Band, Highway to Hell, Joseph Hall and The Mudbugs Cajun and Zydeco Band.
“We think the addition of these performers to the schedule will expand the range of musical tastes, which is our intention,” said Jim Chiaffredo, spokesperson for Winterfest. “And now that www.lwrwinterfest.com
is up and live, fans can familiarize themselves with each act if they’re not already a fan.”
All of these talents add to an already impressive lineup, including Alabama founder Jeff Cook; Marty Balin, a two-time member of the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame; Rick Derringer, who will once again be united on the same stage with multi-instrumentalist Edgar Winter.
“There are still a few acts we are asked not to announce until later,” Chiaffredo said. “But they will be well recognized by all age groups.”
Tickets are available for purchase on the Winterfest at Lakewood Ranch website at www.lwrwinterfest.com
under the “Buy Tickets” tab. General admission each day is only $27.50 and a weekend ticket package for Saturday and Sunday is $42.50. Student admission is $17.50 per day (ages 11-17) and $10 for children per day (ages 3-10).
VIP access is available for $252.50 per day or $352.50 for the weekend. The VIP area features an all-day catered buffet, available bar service, front-row reserved seating and air-conditioned restrooms.
Local talent from the Del Couch Music Education Foundation will also be added to the lineup. The foundation is a Palmetto-based non-profit organization formed to provide students with opportunities to create and learn the art of music, and is one of the two charities benefitting from the festival.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is the other non-profit beneficiary. The foundation ensures full scholarship grants as well as educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty and immediate financial assistance for severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.
Winterfest will feature 50 vendor spots for food and drink and at least 25 booths for an artisan village. Applications to participate are online as well. The music will run from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.
Organizers aim to present a big event that is family friendly, with a large Kid Zone featuring games and activities for families with children.
