(July 16, 2013) – Currahee Club, a 1,200-acre master planned community on Lake Hartwell is on track to double its real estate sales in 2013 compared with 2012, according to community officials.
“In the first six months of 2013, Currahee Club has recorded approximately $1.5 million in sales of homes and home sites, compared with $1.6 million in real estate sales during all of 2012”, said Susan Verlander, Director of Sales & Marketing for Currahee Club and Broker In Charge of Currahee Club Realty.
“New homes nearing completion and now under construction at Currahee, the grand opening of our new $2.5 million Amenity Center in May, our North Georgia Mountain location and the Southern Living Showcase Home set to open here in September are generating tremendous interest and excitement about Currahee Club,” Verlander said. “Our year-to-date sales numbers indicate that we are on target to more than double our real estate sales in 2013. We are starting to see second home and resort communities achieve traction like primary markets have in the past few months. Consumer confidence is up and primary homes are selling at good values allowing sellers to go ahead and make decisions to move.”
Andrew Ward, Managing Director of Currahee Club, added, “We are very pleased with Currahee Club’s success as part of the Arendale Hospitality portfolio of properties. We have also experienced exponential growth in our membership sales with over 100 memberships sold since January of this year and over 20 of these sales happening just last month. Currahee is one of the few gated communities offering mountain, lake, golf and club living.”
Homes and cottages are offered in various styles from American Lodge, Nantucket, English Cottage to Mountain Refined or Craftsman in prices that range from $300,000 to more than $1 million. Home sites from Cottage to Estate size are golf front, golf view, mountain view, lake front and lake view and range in price from $65,000 to $400,000.
The Jim Fazio-designed golf course at Currahee Club was recognized earlier this year as one of The Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses, according to the biennial ranking recently published by D’Algue Selection out of Paris, France. Of the estimated 15,500 golf courses in the United States and 32,000 courses in the world, only 333 in the United States earned a place in the Rolex Top 1000.
Now under construction at Currahee Club is the 2013 Inspired Home by Dillard-Jones Builders, a two-time Southern Living Builder of the Year. The 4,000-square-foot Showcase Home inspired by the pages of Southern Living magazine and the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains will be open from September 26 through December 22.
Currahee Club is located on the shores of Lake Hartwell just eight minutes from the historic town of Toccoa, GA and less than 30 minutes from Clarkesville, Lavonia and Hartwell, GA. It is approximately 85 miles northeast of Atlanta, GA and approximately 62 miles south of Greenville, SC, just minutes off Interstate 85 at Exit 173.
