West Palm Beach, FL (July 9, 2013) – The Ibis Property Owners Association (Ibis POA) was recently named the 2013 Florida Homeowners Association Community of the Year. The announcement was made at the Florida Communities of Excellence Conference and Awards Gala among more than 400 representatives from community associations around the state.

The 2013 Homeowners Association (HOA) Community of the Year is awarded to a Florida community that has shown exemplary accomplishments in multiple areas of community association services, facilities, problem solving, and innovations. Ibis POA was also honored with the Florida Friendly Landscaping, Civic Volunteerism and Advocacy, Trendsetter and Disaster Preparedness awards. Also the recipient of the 2012 HOA Community of the Year, Ibis POA has also been recognized in the award categories of Financial Innovation, Security and Safety Initiatives, and Manager of Excellence.

Ibis POA is the master association for the Ibis Golf and Country Club Community located in West Palm Beach. Ibis POA consists of administration, public safety and maintenances departments that strive to enhance the lives of approximately 5,000 residents in a gated community of 1,871 residences.

The Florida Communities of Excellence Awards are presented annually to community associations that demonstrate excellence in 10 specific categories. Nominations are judged by a select panel of 32 independent experts chosen from among educators, policy experts, consultants, public officials, and professionals within each industry/category represented.
