Crescent Communities, a leading real estate investment, development and operating company in Charlotte, N.C., has named a former Disney Imagineering/Disney Development Company executive, David Muenks, as senior vice president to lead planning for its signature Palmetto Bluff community in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
“David brings to Palmetto Bluff a solid track record of leading world class development programs,” said Andy Carmody, president of Crescent Communities residential group. “His experience spans resort development and operations as well as residential community building, which will be invaluable as we look to future development at Palmetto Bluff.”
Muenks’ career has included a 15-year tenure with Walt Disney Imagineering, the design and development arm of The Walt Disney Company. As director of resorts, facilities and infrastructure development, Muenks spearheaded the design and construction of innovative resort and infrastructure projects for the Walt Disney World Resort and The Celebration Company in Orlando, Fla.
“David’s career includes substantial experience in successfully leading complex development programs within sensitive environments, requiring effective collaboration among various teams,” said Crescent Communities Senior Vice President Jay Page. “His background in amenity-focused design and authentic guest experiences will be an ideal complement to the talents of the Palmetto Bluff operations and marketing team headed by General Manager Gerritt Albert.”
Muenks comes to Crescent from Fetterhoff Company, a professional consulting firm where he directed program and project management support services for Walt Disney Imagineering’s new Shanghai Disney Resort, a retail, dining and entertainment district under development in China.
