Brevard, N.C. (July 1, 2013) The gated master planned community Connestee Falls in Brevard, NC has some of the most beautiful natural scenery and amenities in the Western North Carolina mountains. The Connestee Falls Property Owners Association runs quarterly resident photography contests where residents can enter pictures taken from around the 3,800 acre property.

The Spring 2013 competition had over 90 photographs entered. The five winning photos include some fantastic shots of waterfalls, wildlife and residents having fun on the property. The winning photographs are posted on the Connestee Falls Blog. The blog also has a Photo Album with many more resident photos in a flip book viewer.

Connestee Falls General Manager Jim Lorah said the community has many avid resident photographers and there are always several excellent photos submitted of scenes from around the community and of the people who call it home. In fact, all of the photos on the community’s website are resident photographs from the photo contests. The large photos at the top of the website have a clickable link to learn more about the resident photographer and the story behind their photo.

According to Lorah, the idea behind the photo contests is to let people see the community through the eyes and lenses of its residents. “They know this place better than any professional photographer we could hire and many of their photos are as good as the pros. It’s the natural way to share the beauty of Connestee Falls with others.”

To see Connestee Falls first hand visit the community at their welcome center located at 5500 Greenville Hwy. Brevard, NC 28712.
